The Denver City Council met on October 14, 2024, adopting three proclamations: Global Peer Support Celebration Day, honoring Denver's election workers ahead of the November 5 general election, and the 9th annual Indigenous Peoples Day, accepted by boarding school survivor Ruby Sanchez. The council postponed Council Resolution 24-1240 (East Colfax Safer Streets grant) to October 28 and Council Bill 24-0878 to January 27, 2025 at the applicant's request, and discussed concerns about the Old City Hall view plane ordinance (CB 24-1141) before passing it on introduction. Two rezonings passed on final reading: CB 24-0916 (1920 South King Street, Harvey Park, for accessory dwelling units) passed 11-0, and CB 24-0732 (York Street Yards in Clayton, enabling a 75-unit LGBTQ-affirming senior affordable housing project and rezoning roughly 31 acres to I-MX-5) passed on a 9-2 announced vote after lengthy questions and public testimony from about 20 speakers. A block of resolutions and bills was adopted on consent.
