4:35 council

4:42 let's start with COUNCILMAN

4:45 Watson Watson. Thank you so

4:50 much. Council PRESIDENT. It's

4:51 tough for me to to wants going

4:56 to have to make a this Many of

4:58 our neighbors that live in

5:03 Park Hill along 17th Avenue

5:04 for the 3 years. I know since

5:06 I've been city Council member

5:08 have communicated their

5:09 concerns about speeds and

5:12 speeding along that We've held

5:15 several meetings over the last

5:17 3 years and have made small

5:20 initial steps to provide for

5:22 safer streets this past out.

5:25 Unfortunately, some lawn lost

5:27 their lives on that that

5:32 happened Many of the community

5:34 members that I'm familiar

5:37 with, that I spent time with

5:38 and these discussions I've

5:41 shared with me that they

5:41 actually witnessed person move

5:44 it accident that occurred and

5:45 it's actually used the correct

5:48 term. The crash that occurred

5:49 because the city is aware of

5:51 this feeds on that avenue. We

5:52 have done several studies to

5:53 demonstrate that speeds are

5:57 too high. Our offices have

6:00 taken steps to lower speed

6:01 limit, however, hardening with

6:01 vertical on infrastructure to

6:04 slow those speeds has not

6:06 occurred. I understand the why

6:10 understand gaps in the budget,

6:11 but their community members

6:12 that saw that crash and saw

6:13 someone die on their streets

6:15 in their neighborhood. It's

6:16 something that they will have

6:18 to live with. And so I say to

6:20 my neighbors and Park Hill.

6:22 We'll continue working with

6:23 you collaborating with

6:25 department transportation,

6:26 infrastructure, the mayor's

6:28 office and through our

6:29 budgeting process to budget

6:30 funds to ensure that we

6:32 increase the safety on all

6:34 streets across city and county

6:35 of Denver and then to the

6:39 family that lost a loved one.

6:40 Do that unfortunate. Crash on

6:42 my heart goes out to them at

6:44 all. And to those that witness

6:45 said, my heart goes out to you

6:47 and I look forward to continue

6:49 listening and working with you

6:50 on solutions. Thank you.

6:54 Council PRESIDENT, thank you.

6:55 Council member of the thank

6:59 you. Council PRESIDENT. I just

7:01 wanted to send a shout out and

7:03 thank you to police district 3

7:03 who helped to recover about

7:05 Leavitt by this weekend. It

7:07 was all over the news that a

7:11 local deejay that uses a very

7:14 special bike as part of his

7:15 dj. Had it stolen and it was

7:15 able to be recovered. It took

7:19 a lot of community looking

7:21 around to finding it and

7:23 ultimate the dpd District 3

7:24 stepping in to the people does

7:25 our social recover that just

7:26 wanted to say. Thank you.

7:27 Thank you. Council PRESIDENT,

7:31 thank you. COUNCILMAN Hines,

7:32 thank you. MADAM PRESIDENT, I

7:34 have believe 4 times so far

7:37 this year talked about Vision,

7:38 0. The last time I talked

7:44 about it high warns that this

7:46 is the Colorado Department of

7:48 Transportation says this is

7:49 the most dangerous time of the

7:53 year for pedestrians and this

7:55 is one of the statistics that

7:57 we want a low score, but

7:59 continue to to move up towards

8:02 a high score as of AUGUST 10,

8:06 Sarah been 41 traffic deaths

8:08 as in 41 Vision, 0 statistics.

8:08 That's not even including not

8:11 even including those who has

8:15 sustained serious injuries. 41

8:16 traffic deaths in Denver so

8:19 far in 2026. And and I agree.

8:22 Counselor Watson, thank you

8:23 for you. Pointing out that

8:25 we're doing what we can. We

8:30 direct authority over making

8:34 our streets safer for everyone

8:37 has all the resources they

8:41 need and the appropriate push

8:43 from the legislative branch to

8:44 actually implement those

8:45 fixes. Thank you, MADAM

8:48 PRESIDENT. Thank you.

8:52 Councilmember Torres thank you

8:55 so much. MADAM PRESIDENT, one,

8:56 I just want give a shout out

9:32 reflecting its culture

9:33 directly from community. So i
